A star never moves against the sky, so its address is two numbers: right ascension and declination. This link carries those two numbers. Your phone knows where on Earth it is and which way it’s pointing, so it can work out exactly where that star is above you right now and steer you to it.

Anyone who opens the link, anywhere in the world, is guided to the same star. No telescope. It works best outside at night with a clear view of the sky.
